Frankfurt Germany

On March 8, 9, 10th we went to Frankfurt for some training.  We stayed with the Blacoe family Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and then flew back Thursday afternoon.  William Blacoe trained us on the European Way of doing things and then took us sightseeing. William Blacoe and Dad in front of his home.

We saw the home that Anne Frank was born in and the brick with her name on it on a wall with the names of all those who lost their lives in the Holocast.

Dad is standing in front of the entrance to the cell where the put "lazy Germans" during World War II.

On Thursday, Elder and Sister Blake and Sister Windley took up to the Frankfurt Temple and we had lunch in a little old German Restaurant.

We went with the Solihull Ward Relief Society to the Preston Temple on March 12th to celebrate the R.S. Birthday.  I had signed up to go in R.S. and then Dad told the R.S. President that he didn't think we should be separated for that long as missionary companions and asked if he could go also.

We made it to England

We arrived in England on February 15, 2011.  After a 3 hour delay at the Salt Lake Airport, (our plane needed new struts on the landing gear) we finally left around 10:00 a.m. for Chicago.  We just made it to Chicago in time to connect with our flight to Frankfurt, Germany.  We then flew into Birmingham Airport from Frankfurt.

Sian Davies met us at the airport and took us and our luggage to our new "flat," and then took us to the office.  She told us we couldn't sleep until it was night, so we would get over our jet lag faster.
Our "flat" is on the 2nd floor - the big window on the left and the one in the corner.
