Germany

Who would have ever thought that the  word "beyond" in our name of "ldsenglandandbeyond" meant we would be going to Germany!  We had no clue!!  But it has been a good change for us.  We have plenty to do now.  We are enjoying the contact we have with the other missionary couples.  We replaced Elder and Sister Rose - who took our place in England, and they had replaced Elder and Sister Taylor who are now home.  So it has been somewhat confusing to the young Elders and Sisters, but they seem to be OK with it all.

Frankfurt Germany

On March 8, 9, 10th we went to Frankfurt for some training.  We stayed with the Blacoe family Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and then flew back Thursday afternoon.  William Blacoe trained us on the European Way of doing things and then took us sightseeing. William Blacoe and Dad in front of his home.

We saw the home that Anne Frank was born in and the brick with her name on it on a wall with the names of all those who lost their lives in the Holocast.

Dad is standing in front of the entrance to the cell where the put "lazy Germans" during World War II.

On Thursday, Elder and Sister Blake and Sister Windley took up to the Frankfurt Temple and we had lunch in a little old German Restaurant.

We went with the Solihull Ward Relief Society to the Preston Temple on March 12th to celebrate the R.S. Birthday.  I had signed up to go in R.S. and then Dad told the R.S. President that he didn't think we should be separated for that long as missionary companions and asked if he could go also.

We made it to England

We arrived in England on February 15, 2011.  After a 3 hour delay at the Salt Lake Airport, (our plane needed new struts on the landing gear) we finally left around 10:00 a.m. for Chicago.  We just made it to Chicago in time to connect with our flight to Frankfurt, Germany.  We then flew into Birmingham Airport from Frankfurt.

Sian Davies met us at the airport and took us and our luggage to our new "flat," and then took us to the office.  She told us we couldn't sleep until it was night, so we would get over our jet lag faster.
Our "flat" is on the 2nd floor - the big window on the left and the one in the corner.

England

Dear Family,

Just a note to let you know what is going on in our lives.  We are getting to the counting of the last couple weeks before we go.  The time is going fast for us now, but we wanted you to have a couple of new addresses so you would know where we are.  We really aren't trying to run away, - we just wanted to go on another adventure.

We will be at the MTC from January 31st until Feb.9th and then we wil be back up at Zermatt until February 12th.  We will be staying at Brad and Emily's Sunday night, Feb. 13th and Brad will take us to the airport Monday morning on his way to school since we have to be there at 5:30 a.m.  or something like that.  So here are the other addresses:

Elder Edwin Kent Pulsipher
Sister Joan Foote Pulsipher
England Birmingham Mission
Provo Missionary Training Center
2005 North 900 East
Provo, Utah 84604

Then in England:

Elder Edwin Kent Pulsipher and Sister Joan Pulsipher
LDS Family Services
751 Warwick Road
Solihull
West Midlands
England   B91 3DQ

This will be our address England until we know what our home address will be.

We are going to speak in Church on January 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel on 13th East and Turquoise.  We aren't going to have anything afterwards except for our setting apart if we can get that arranged.  We would like the grandkids to sing "I Am a Child of God" for both our meeting and Jake's Farewell.  Kristi is going to play the piano and Marci is going to lead the singing.  Cheryl and Jake wanted that as a special musical number also. We would like you to be at the Church at 12:30 p.m. for ours so we can decided where you will stand and go through the song once.  We hope all of you can make it to both meetings.

Jake is going through the Temple today at 2:00 p.m. in the Timpanogos Temple and he is having his farewell on FEBRUARY 13TH  in the Chapel by their home at 9:00 a.m.  They are going to have a get together at their home after the Sacrament Meeting.  This is Jake's time to shine!!  But hopefully, we will get to see most of you then before we fly out the next day!

We are getting excited now that things are getting closer.  We decided to call this a two year mission instead of just 18 months, because we have been waiting for 6 months to go.

We love you all and are sending this even to those that can't be here for the meetings so that you will know what is going on.

Love,
Mom and Dad/Grandma and Grandpa
